| "Constructivist learning theory in practice," following six principles: research into student learning is critical; conceptual understanding is primary, but calculations play a major role; the good use of technology can be valuable; cooperative learning is effective in mathematics; lecturing should be replaced by interactive activities; and textbooks and course structure must support this pedagogical strategy. The curriculum outlines activities, class meetings, and problem sets; textbooks are available. Contact information included. C4L is the product of the NSF-funded Purdue Calculus Reform Project. | |
